Robust Lip Localization on Multi-view Faces in Video

چکیده
In this paper, a fast and robust multi-view lip localization algorithm in video is proposed. We consider lip localization as a binary classification problem, where a classifier is learned to distinguish between the lip and the region surrounding it. The classifier we use here is a histogrambased one which exploits the anthropometrical properties of the human face with the help of face scale normalization. Due to the perceptual uniformity and robustness for lip/skin color variations across different people, we adopt CIELUV color model to represent the color of lip. After classification, we propose a novel projection-cut algorithm by Spatial Deviation Analysis (SDA) to locate the lip, which is effective to deal with the background clutters. Experimental results on teleplay videos demonstrate that the proposed approach is efficient and robust for lip localization.

Learning Universal Multi-view Age Estimator by Video Contexts
Most existing techniques for analyzing face images assume that the faces are at near-frontal poses. Generalizing to non-frontal faces is often difficult, due to a dearth of ground truths for non-frontal faces and also the inherent challenges of handling pose variations. In this work, we investigate how to learn universal multi-view age estimator by harnessing 1) the rich video contexts, 2) publ...
متن کاملEffects of Moving Landmark’s Speed on Multi-Robot Simultaneous Localization and Mapping in Dynamic Environments
Even when simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) solutions have been broadly developed, the vast majority of them relate to a single robot performing measurements in static environments. Researches show that the performance of SLAM algorithms deteriorates under dynamic environments. In this paper, a multi-robot simultaneous localization and mapping (MR-SLAM) system is implemented within a...
متن کاملVideo-Based Online Face Recognition Using Identity Surfaces
Recognising faces across multiple views is more challenging than that from a fixed view because of the severe non-linearity caused by rotation in depth, self-occlusion, self-shading, and change of illumination. The problem can be related to the problem of modelling the spatiotemporal dynamics of moving faces from video input for unconstrained live face recognition. Both problems remain largely ...
متن کاملReal-Time Lip Tracking for Audio-Visual Speech Recognition Applications
Developments in dynamic contour tracking permit sparse representation of the outlines of moving contours. Given the increasing computing power of general-purpose workstations it is now possible to track human faces and parts of faces in real-time without special hardware. This paper describes a real-time lip tracker that uses a Kalman lter based dynamic contour to track the outline of the lips....
متن کاملA Method for Face Segmentation, Facial Feature Extraction and Tracking
An important topic in face recognition as well as in video coding or multi-modal human machine interfaces is the automatic localization of faces or head andshoulder regions in visual scenes. The algorithms therefore should be computationally efficient and robust against distortions like varying lighting conditions. This paper describes a method for segmenting frontal head and shoulder views of ...
